Teacher accused of drug possession
On April 21, 2021, a school administrator at an elementary school contacted local police to report the possible presence of drugs on the campus. An officer responded that same day. According to reports, the attending officer discovered a white powder in one of the kindergarten teacher’s desks, which he or she determined was cocaine. The students were at recess at the time of the discovery.
The 46-year-old teacher was then arrested during that same school day without any apparent difficulties, and the school plans to find a replacement for the remainder of the school year. The teacher in question has since been charged with felony cocaine possession. A judge decided to not grant her bond either, and she will remain behind bars until she is expected to appear in court in early June.
